In My Mailbox #8

I think it's about time I did another one of these IMM posts, haven't done one for a while. I'm not going to do a vlog though, it's too early in the morning :L In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren =] So, in the last month or so since my last IMM, I got: For Review: Outside In by Maria V. Snyder (Thank You to Harlequin and NetGalley for this title) Me? A Leader? Okay, I did prove that there's more to Inside than we knew. That a whole world exists beyond this cube we live in. And finding that led to a major rebellion - between worker scrubs like me and the snobby uppers who rule our world. Make that ruled. Because of me, we're free. I thought that meant I was off the hook, and could go off on my own again - while still touching base with Riley, of course. He's the one upper I think I can trust. But then we learned that there's outside and then there is Outside. And something from Outside wants In. - From Goodreads.com Publicati

Book Review: Forsaken by Jana Oliver

Title: Forsaken Author: Jana Oliver Series: The Demon Trappers Pages: 420 Date of UK Publication: January 7th 2011 Source: Bought Synopsis from Goodreads: Riley has always wanted to be a Demon Trapper like her father, and she's already following in his footsteps as one of the best. But it's tough being the only girl in an all-guy world, especially when three of those guys start making her life more complicated: Simon, the angelic apprentice who has heaven on his side; Beck, the tough trapper who thinks he's God's gift, and Ori, the strikingly sexy stranger who keeps turning up to save her ass. One thing's for sure - if she doesn't keep her wits about her there'll be hell to pay... My Thoughts: Forsaken is an amazing debut novel. It kept me hooked from the first to the last page, and I couldn't stop reading, or thinking about it when I wasn't. It was awesome. I love Riley. On the back, it says she is 'kicking hell's ass one

Book Blogger Hop #17 and Follow Friday #12

Do you ever wish you would have named your blog something else? My answer: No way. I love my blog name! It's kinda dumb, but it's me, so no way do I wish I called it something else =] And besides, I wouldn't have a clue what to call it if it wasn't Cheezyfeet Books... :L  Share your current favourite television show! Tell us a bit about it... My answer: There are so many awesome things on TV at the moment! I absolutely love Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, and 90210, and there is also a couple of British series that I love, called Hustle and Marchlands. Hustle is about a group of people who are a bit like Robin Hood, they con rich people out of money to help a friend, or just because the rich person is nasty. It's really good, and so clever. Marchlands is about a house, and in the 60s a young girl called Alice who was living there drowned. It switches between 3 time periods, the 60s, the 80s and present day, and it's very confusing and creepy, but awesome

Teaser Tuesday #15: Forsaken by Jana Oliver + Kindle Low Prices

This week I'm reading Forsaken by Jana Oliver, about a girl who is the daughter of one of the best demon trappers in the world. It's really awesome, and the cover is gorgeous!   Synopsis from Goodreads:   Riley has always wanted to be a Demon Trapper like her father, and she's already following in his footsteps as one of the best. My Teaser:  'Beck took a sharp intake of breath as if she'd broken something inside him. She turned her back on him and let the tears fall. A door closed and then there was silence.' - page 78  __________

A GREAT AND TERRIBLE BEAUTY by Libba Bray Title: A Great and Terrible Beauty Author: Libba Bray Publication Date: 9th December 2003 When I Read It: October 2009 Synopsis: A Victorian boarding school story, a Gothic mansion mystery, a gossipy romp about a clique of girlfriends, and a dark other-worldly fantasy--jumble them all together and you have this complicated and unusual first novel. Sixteen-year-old Gemma has had an unconventional upbringing in India, until the day she foresees her mother's death in a black, swirling vision that turns out to be true. Sent back to England, she is enrolled at Spence, a girls' academy with a mysterious burned-out East Wing. Book Review: Siren by Tricia Rayburn

Title: Siren Author: Tricia Rayburn Series: Siren #1 Pages: 377 Date of UK Publication: 20th January 2011 Source: Bought Synopsis from Goodreads: Vacationing in Winter Harbor, Maine, is a tradition for Vanessa and Justine Sands, and that means spending time with the Carmichael boys. This summer, Vanessa is determined to channel some of her older sister’s boldness, get over her fear of the ocean, and maybe turn her friendship with Simon Carmichael into something much more. But when Justine goes cliff-diving after a big family argument, and her body washes ashore the next day, Vanessa is sure that it was more than an accident. She is more certain of this, when she discovers that her sister was keeping some big secrets and Caleb Carmichael’s gone missing. Book of the Week #19: Inside Out by Maria V. Snyder

I love dystopian novels, they're awesome. I love the idea that the future isn't definite, and though there are many stories about how the future is amazing, and better than now, I love how it could also turn out to be worse, even though I'd rather it actually did turn out to be awesome :L So, this week I chose Inside Out by Maria V. Snyder, which is about a girl called Trella who lives in a place called Inside, and she leads a revolution to try and make Inside a better place. It is such a good story and so unique, so I decided to make it this week's book of the week. =] Title: Inside Out Author: Maria V. Snyder Publication Date: January 2011 (UK) When I Read It: January 2011 Synopsis: Keep Your Head Down. Don't Get Noticed. Or Else. I'm Trella. I'm a scrub. A nobody. One of thousands who work the lower levels, keeping Inside clean for the Uppers. I've got one friend, do my job and try to avoid the Pop Cops. So what if I occasionally use t

Tell us about one of your posts from this week and give us a link so we can read it (review or otherwise)! My answer: Last Sunday I finished Angel by LA Weatherly, which was awesome, and I was very proud of my review, so I'm choosing that one to share with you all! I hope you like it, I thought it was a good one for me =] Read it here =]  What's your favourite romance hero type? Stereotype wise. Do you like the strong silent type or the brute macho man? My answer: Hmm... I didn't realise there were stereotypes :L I don't really mind if they're strong and silent or brute and macho, it depends on the book, and what competition they have :L I do like a man who will do anything for their girl, they're the best. So, I don't really mind, as long as they'll do whatever it takes to protect their loved one...  What's happened this week at Cheezyfeet Books?  Reviews: Angel by LA Weatherly Memes: Teaser Tuesday #13: City of Glass by Cassandra Clare Featur

Book Blogger Hop #15 and Follow Friday #10

What are you reading now and why are you reading it?  My answer: I'm reading Angel by LA Weatherly, because my friend wouldn't shut up about it :L But, she was right to go on about how good it was, it is awesome! I'm also reading The Vespertine by Saundra Mitchell, which I got as an e-book from NetGalley, but because I have to read it on the computer, I can only read a little bit of it at a time otherwise my eyes go funny. It's good though =]  What is the book you are currently 'pushing'? My answer: I've never heard the term 'pushing' before... Anyway, at the moment, I'm trying to get all my friends to read The Iron King by Julie Kagawa, because it just came out in the UK and now they can get it from Waterstones, and don't have to go online to get it. Which is cheaper and easier... So anyway, I'm trying to get them to read that, but they won't! It's tragic... :L What's happened this week at Cheezyfeet Books? Reviews: T

Now, because of fatal allergies to iron, blood and consecrated ground, Mackie is slowly dying in the human world. Mackie would give anything just to be normal, to live quietly amongst humans, practice his bass guitar and spend time with his crush, Tate. But when Tate's baby sister goes missing, Mackie is drawn irrevocably into the underworld of Gentry, known as Mayhem, where he must face down the dark creatures and find his rightful place - in our world, or theirs. My Thoughts: I didn't really know what to expect with
